Hollis Montessori School is 501(c)(3) non-profit institution governed by a Board of Directors which provides oversight for the school.
The volunteer Board is responsible for ensuring that the mission of Hollis Montessori is carried out and it has fiduciary responsibility for the school. Board members actively lead long-term and strategic planning efforts, and engage in fund raising and community-building initiatives.
The Board of Directors employs the Head of School, who is responsible for executing the policies established by the Board, hiring faculty and staff, and managing the daily operations of the school.
Board members are nominated and elected for three-year terms.
Gerrilyn Moriarty - President
Gerri joined the HMS Board of Directors in 2014. She enrolled her daughter at Hollis Montessori in 2008 and became an immediate fan of the school. Gerri has a passion for child advocacy and has served Court Appointed Child Advocates of New Hampshire for 20 years. She became a Guardian ad Litem in the Family Court and advocated for abused and neglected children. Most recently Gerri served as Chairman of the Board of the state-wide non-profit organization and continues to develop communications and fund-raising efforts. She has a BS in Computer Science and an MBA and has spent almost 30 years working in Product Management, Sales, and Business Development at technology companies. Gerri lives in New Hampshire.
PremAnand Rao - Vice President
Prem joined the HMS Board of Directors in 2019. He was introduced to Montessori education when his oldest kid, then 3, was enrolled in a Montessori school. Prem has been an involved parent at Hollis Montessori school since 2013 and has served on multiple school committees. He loves the beautiful campus, the culture of transparency and the close knit community at HMS. He has an MS in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University and a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, India. Prem has been working as a software developer for multiple technology companies since 1998. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and two kids, one is enrolled at HMS and one is an alum.
Chris Macbean - Treasurer
As Treasurer for Hollis Montessori School Chris fuses finances with the long-term vision for the school’s impact. As a parent of young children he deeply appreciates the importance of a Montessori education on shaping future generations. Outside of board activities, Chris is a Partner of Harbor Group in Bedford, NH and the firm's Chief Planning Officer who oversees financial planning activities as well as certain aspects of the firm's operations. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Chris is passionate about wealth management that spans the full spectrum of planning. He appreciates the interconnectedness of topics and is particularly interested in retirement distribution modeling. Chris also deeply values helping clients create a healthy relationship with money by evoking conscious choices about earning, spending, saving, and giving.
Chris earned a Master of Science in financial planning (MSFP), with distinction, from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University and a Bachelor of Science in finance, cum laude, from Bentley University. Chris is an active member of the community, not only as board member for HMS, but serving as a Trustee of the Trust Funds for the Town of Hollis. Chris lives in Hollis, NH along with his wife, Morgan, and their two daughters, Sydney and Maya, who both attend HMS. They enjoy traveling, being outdoors involved in activities such as hiking as well as spending time with family. In his spare time, Chris is an avid woodworker and creates custom furniture.
Paul Carlson - Secretary
Paul joined the HMS Board in 2019. He has been involved in Montessori education since 2009, when his oldest child began attending an AMI Montessori school in Chicago. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science, he spent 17 years in banking and commercial real estate lending and is now a private real estate investor. Two of his children attend Hollis Montessori School, and two are alums, and he loves how Montessori leverages their natural curiosity to learn.
Camille Campbell
Camille rejoined the HMS Board of Directors in 2024 and is happy to be a member of this wonderful Montessori community. Her family was one of the founding families of the school in 2008. During that time, her roles at HMS included board member, parent, Admissions Director, and Assistant Head of School. After leaving HMS in 2016, Camille became the Executive Director of a digital marketing agency that specializes in services for Montessori Schools, where she worked until 2023. She is currently the owner of a local startup in the health and wellness space.
Camille has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and professional training in Graphic Design. In addition to her roles in Montessori education and marketing, she has worked as a software engineer, web developer, and graphic designer. She lives in Hollis with her husband and has two adult daughters who attended Hollis Montessori school.
Dwayne Duprey
Dwayne joined the Board in 2023 as a parent of two former HMS students. After an 11 year Air Force career he spent several years as a software developer in the Defense industry. For the past 11 years he has been an Area Developer and multi-unit franchise owner for major brands in the health and wellness industry. He values the child-focused approach of the Montessori method for fostering self motivated growth for children and adolescents in all areas of their development.
Carol Linstid
Before joining the HMS Board in 2022 Carol had been participating in the HMS community as a parent and volunteer on multiple school committees over the seven years since her daughter started in Children’s House. She graduated from William Smith College in 2001 with a double major in History and Civic Education and completed the teacher preparation program at the Secondary level. She served two years in AmeriCorps*VISTA with Massachusetts Campus Compact, supporting volunteerism programs linking college students with their local communities. Her background in experiential education led her to investigate Montessori when she became a parent. Her daughter’s experience in Children’s House, Lower Elementary, and now Upper Elementary at HMS has made her a passionate advocate for Montessori education. Carol has also completed graduate work in Sociology at the University of New Hampshire. She is currently studying exercise science and the psychology of habit change after earning certification as a Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Carol lives with her family in Amherst, NH.
Lisa Smith
Lisa joined the HMS Board of Directors in 2023. She learned about Montessori education when her child attended an AMS Montessori school at 3 years old. After the first year, Lisa and her husband realized how much Montessori education resonated with their parenting style. The next year, they moved their son to HMS after learning about AMI Montessori schools and understanding the value of an AMI certification. Lisa has been involved in fundraising for the school since her family joined HMS in 2011, serving on the Fundraising Committee as well as being an Annual Fund Co-Chair. She loves the community that HMS continually develops and nurtures, both for children as well as the school's families Lisa has a BS is Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, and has worked as a software engineer at numerous technology companies over the last 20 years. Lisa enjoys volunteering in her personal time and in addition to being on the HMS board, she works with several other local non-profits. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and two children; her daughter is enrolled at HMS and her son is an alumni.
Andy Westwood
Andy Westwood joined the HMS Board of Directors during the summer season of 2024, and appreciates the opportunity to support a valued learning institution in the Hollis community.
Andy holds a BSEE from UVA, and MSIS from UNH, and has worked for several Technology firms over the last 45 years. He currently he works at Teradyne, developing Semiconductor and Electro-Optics measurement instruments. Before that, he spent several years at HP/Agilent/Keysight, assisting University labs to develop research equipment for BioMedical Sciences, Internet Systems, Mobile-Phone Technologies, Medical Diagnostics, Quantum Computation and Advanced Materials Research. This is where he developed an interest in encouraging students and their teachers.
Andy and his wife enjoy live theater, jazz music, hiking in nature, and he's preparing to enjoy furniture building in retirement.
