Latest Update: PHase One is on its way!

Phase One has been ordered and will be installed in late Spring 2024! We plan to order Phase Two soon, and it should be installed by late 2024.

Background

Ever since Hollis Montessori School opened, the community has dreamed of building a playground. Playgrounds support the development of children's gross motor skills, control, coordination, and strength. When their bodies are strong and connected with their minds, our children flourish. In addition, the playground offers an extension to the classroom for developing social skills and practicing grace and courtesy. Our playground will offer the opportunity for our families and children to connect and build community.

Fund the Future: Donate to build the PLayground!

The total cost of the playground will be $160,000. Last year, the members of this community opened their hearts and came together to provide a foundation to start making that dream a reality, and raised $72,760. So far this year, we’ve raised another $48,495, bringing the total to nearly 76% of the total cost of the playground! This includes a 2-year pledge from the members of the school’s Board of Directors for $30,000, as well as an additional $10,000 matching fund for this year’s Fund the Future special appeal.

We are proud of the progress we’ve made this past year: we broke ground and prepared the area, designed a playground plan, and ordered equipment for Phase One! It should be installed by late spring. With your help, we aim to fundraise the remaining $38,745 and install Phase Two before the end of 2024.

This year’s Fund the Future is the conclusion of a two-year campaign to fund the building of a playground at Hollis Montessori School. Major Donors to the Playground Fund will be recognized based on the total of their donations over the two years of the campaign. There will be a plaque in the school thanking everyone who gave a total of $1,000 or more.
